Ingredients
    INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE: MAKES 1 CAKE
  • 2 cup Cake Flour
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Chocolate
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar ((Icing Sugar))
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips ((Finely Chopped))
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts ((Finely Chopped))
  • 1/2 cup Semi Sweat Chocolate Chips
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Corn Syrup
  • INGREDIENTS FOR BUTTERSCOTCH FILLING:
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch ((Maizena))
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Butter
Instructions
    METHOD FOR CAKE:
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch (22.5cm) round baking pans.
  2. 2. combine Flour, Brown Sugar, Baking Powder, Salt and Baking Soda, set aside.
  3. 3. Beat Granulated Sugar and Butter in a large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add Eggs one by one and beat after every egg is added.
  4. 4. Beat in Milk and Vanilla Essence. Add Flour mixture and Chopped Chocolate Chips and beat well. Pour mixture into both prepared pans.
  5. 5. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes or until cake tester or wooden skewer inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from pans onto wire rack and let cool.
  6. 6. Prepare Butterscotch Filling. Spread 1 cake layer with Butterscotch Filling and sprinkle with 1/4 cup walnuts. Place second cake on top.
  7. 7. Combine Chocolate Chips, Butter and Corn Syrup in small saucepan. Stir over low heat until Chocolate melts.
  8. 8. Pour over top of cake allowing some to drip down the sides of the cake. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup Walnuts over as garnish.
  9. METHOD FOR BUTTERSCOTCH FILLING
  10. 1. Combine Butter, Cornstarch (Maizina) and Salt in a saucepan. Add water and bring to boil while stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly and stir in butter and let cool
